Sleeping yoga in Tibet (139)

“Sleeping yoga in Tibet” series  ( 139) sleeping yoga in Tibet written by Dan zengwang and translated by Xiang Hongjia   Jiang Xiurong China Tibetology press Chapter 4   The following chapters are similar to the basic vocabulary of Tantric school

.

Different from the early materials on sleep yoga, these chapters on sleep yoga are for those who are already practicing Tantra and Da Yuanman

.

  1

.

Sleep and deep sleep when the consciousness subsides from the senses, the mind completely indulges in the disorder, and the mental image and various thoughts fade out until they disappear in the dark, the normal sleep process will occur

.

Then, the unconscious state continues until the birth of the dream

.

When a dream comes into being, the “sense of self” can be reconstructed through the binary relationship with the image in the dream until the next unconscious stage appears

.

The conversion between unconsciousness and dream constitutes a normal sleep night

.

For us, sleep is dark because we lose consciousness during sleep

.

Sleep seems to have no experience, because we recognize the carelessness that can no longer function in dreams

.

We call the period of loss of identity “deep sleep”

.

In the dream, we are conscious, because the wandering heart is active and generates a “dream self” that we identify with

.

However, in sleep, the “Lord I” is not generated

.

Although we are certain that sleep is unconscious, darkness and the void of experience are not the essence of sleep

.

For our own fundamental pure consciousness, sleep does not exist

.

When not disturbed by obstacles, dreams or distractions, the wandering mind melts into the nature of the mind and does not produce mindless sleep

.

Therefore, clarity, silence and great joy arise

.

When we develop the ability to live in that awareness, we find that sleep is luminous

.

This flicker is the light, and it is our true nature

.

As explained in previous chapters, dreams originate from karma

.

I compare light to something projected through film when making a movie

.

Karma is a photograph, and awareness is the light that illuminates the photograph

.

The dream is projected to alaiye

.

On the camera (or storage)

.

Dream Yoga cultivates a kind of lucidity related to images in dreams

.

But in sleeping yoga, there is neither film nor projection

.

Sleeping yoga has no reflection

.

This kind of practice is to use consciousness to directly perceive consciousness

.

Light just flickers by itself, which is light without any image

.

After that, when stability is achieved in the light, even after the image in the dream does not distract the practitioner’s attention, the dream phase of sleep will also appear in the light

.

At this time, these dreams are called bright light dreams, which are different from pure light dreams

.

In the light dream, the light will not be covered

.

Once we conceptualize the true meaning of light or try to visualize it, light loses its true meaning

.

In the light, there is neither subject nor object

.

If the subject is identified, it is impossible to enter the light

.

In fact, nothing can “enter” the light

.

Bright light is the basis of understanding bright light

.

There is neither you nor it

.

It is inevitable to fall into self contradiction to use dualistic language to describe non dualistic things

.

The only way to understand light is to perceive it directly** Please reply to “directory” to learn more about the platform** Click below“
