Yoga Practice Log No. 24 (Part 2)

Exercise log — Issue 24 (Part 2): Focusing on the side rib to present the side rib by bending backward or opening the side rib by stretching the arm is a common way to activate the side rib.

So can the work done by the legs also be related to the opening of the side ribs? The internal rotation or external rotation of the leg can directly act on the outside of the trunk, and the extension of the outside of the trunk can indirectly drive the extension of the side ribs.

The legs and side ribs are not adjacent, so it requires more acute perception to establish a channel between them.

Use the wall rope to fix the thigh root, so as to clearly separate the trunk and legs.

The external rotation of the legs will also be easier.

The biggest help here is the tension of the wall nail, which opposes the extension direction of the arm away from the wall, so that the side ribs can be fully extended.

The support provided by the chair can facilitate the trainee to feel and immerse in it.

In Iyengar yoga system, the function of accessories is not only to assist beginners or practitioners with physical injuries.

Its main function is to target mature practitioners.

After having a basic experience of asana and understanding its general way of doing work, the accessories can inspire practitioners to find the path of mind concentration in asana and improve the perception of each part of the body.

This is equivalent to recombination according to the specified path after decomposition.

This process is complex and gradual, and it needs to be stable enough to be completed finally.

The use of assistive devices also makes it possible to keep the posture long enough.

It is easy for beginners to slack off in asanas when they use too many accessories.

The body does not work actively, and the mind returns to the disorder and lack of discrimination in daily life.

The teacher called that state: death in asana.

So first try the triangle pose with the arm extended upward without any accessories.

To experience it, actively let the limbs do work.

Then experience the same posture with accessories.

The assistive device is not a servant who does work on behalf of the limbs.

It is GURU (Guru).

It uses light to dispel the darkness, light up the dull and unconscious parts of the body, and make the body and mind more closely integrated.

The half moon pose with chairs and wall ropes should also be practiced after understanding the work style of the half moon pose and getting familiar with its feelings.

The role of the wall rope is similar to that of the triangle.

It helps the legs to rotate outward and push backward, so that one side of the body is fully exposed.

Then use the back of the chair to support the armpit and feel the awareness of the armpit being ignited.

Latch style marks the side of the trunk by pressing the leg to the ground and fully turning outward.

In this pose, the two sides of the torso are stretched asymmetrically, so that the side ribs on one side will be opened more thoroughly.

When the assistive device is not used, the establishment of the foundation and the external rotation of the leg are great challenges.

So you can try to pull your feet directly with your hands after trying the classic entry method.

The work of holding hands and feet will also become an assistant for opening the side ribs here.

The side ribs are the areas that need to be noticed and watched frequently in asana.

By setting it, and then sensing and controlling it, you can continuously inject and gather the flow of mind.

The flow of consciousness will also drive the flow of energy (Prana) to concentrate there.

A lifetime of learning..
