Self discipline and happiness of a yoga practitioner

He is a great calligrapher and a compassionate French writer; He is a winemaker, an engineer and a Buddhist; He is a scholar official, a secretary of the emperor, a kind-hearted judge and a wanderer under the moon; He is a great poet! He is Su Dongpo.

“There is no husband who is not strict and can achieve enlightenment.” Many people may not know that Su Dongpo has been practicing yoga regularly.

He also found that yoga has many clear characteristics.

For example, it can control breathing, “close it 120 times and open it, and the cover has been closed for more than 20 times.”.

Therefore, many times, like ordinary yoga practitioners, Su Dongpo puts on his clothes after his son every night, faces the east or south, crosses his feet and knocks 36 times.

Then calculate his breathing cycle and start practicing yoga.

A yogi needs self-discipline like an ascetic monk.

This self-discipline makes Su Dongpo more excellent.

Su Dongpo wrote about 4000 poems in his life, especially when he was an official in Hangzhou, Mizhou near Qingdao and Suzhou.

He wrote a lot of poems.

His poems were beautiful, sentimental, witty or angry.

Sing what you feel in your heart.

In various environments, Su Dongpo has been able to write continuously and write poetry with high yield, which has left us valuable literary wealth.

In fact, it is not just the performance of genius.

Later, writing has become a living habit of Su Dongpo.

He doesn’t need anyone’s reminder to start writing anytime and anywhere.

This should have something to do with practicing yoga.

People who practice yoga must be more open-minded.

So is Su Dongpo.

Su Dongpo, who was demoted as an official, likes to be a farming farmer.

As long as he has time, he keeps working hard, building dams, building fish ponds, moving saplings from his neighbors, and sending someone from his hometown Sichuan to find vegetables.

When he heard that water came out of the well, or that green buds appeared from the vegetables he planted, he jumped up like a child with joy.

Looking at the rice stalk swaying in the breeze and the dew shining like a pearl in the moonlight, he was even more proud and satisfied.

Su Dongpo was good at cooking.

At that time, Huangzhou pork was extremely cheap.

Under the situation of “the rich refused to eat and the poor did not understand cooking”, he invented a simple cooking method and made the famous “Dongpo meat”, which has been spread into a famous dish.

He also made his own wine.

In Dingzhou for a short time, he tried to make orange wine and pine wine.

His “luofuchun” is even more famous.

It can be said that Su Dongpo broke our conventional definition of literati.

No wonder Mr.

Lin Yutang said: “the happiness of being a senior official is not necessarily greater than that of being a successful blacksmith!” I think Mr.

Lin must envy Su Dongpo’s infinite leisure, his love for the moon night and his infatuation with good wine.

Su Dongpo once had many witty sayings about yoga.

One paragraph has been translated into modern Chinese, which probably means the following: “orthodox Yoga aims at meditation.

After dissecting yourself from the senses, you can really experience the truth, or God, or the soul of the world.

Cultivating yourself lies not in what you see, but in nothing.” At the moment, as a person who has practiced yoga for many years, my mood is proud.
